Book Note: Lois McMaster Bujold, The Mountains of Mourning

I read this book about 26-Jun-2002. I've read this book before. The book is copyright 1989. This note was last modified Thursday, 19-Dec-2002 16:19:38 PST.

This note does not contain major spoilers for the book.

I did a quick read of this because I grabbed it from the Baen Free Library. This was my first try with them, and I wanted to go through the whole process of downloading, converting to Palm, and reading, to make sure it all worked okay. They seem to do a good job, and they provide a lot of different formats, which is nice. I worked from their HTML, which I then ran through Isilo.

It's quite a nice story, too. Miles, just after graduating from the Academy, gets sent out (his own fault, too) to solve an infanticide way out in the hills. Without stirring up too much trouble, of course. Start trying to turn the tradition-bound hill people towards civilization. Good luck, Miles!
