Book Note: James S. A. Corey, Leviathan Wakes

I read this book about 15-Jul-2012. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 2011. This note was last modified Wednesday, 26-Sep-2012 15:25:37 PDT.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

James S.A. Corey is the pen name of fantasy author Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck.

This was a Hugo nominee this year, and I read it from the Hugo voter packet.

I probably should have liked this. The background is nice; constricted to the solar system, but with quite a bit of political variety, and human colonization widespread.

Neither character really snapped into focus for me, neither the officer on the ice miner ship, nor the policeman. That may, possibly, be the real crux of the problem.

Or maybe it's just that I'm totally overdosed on zombies, and vomit zombies are not any better. Or that I don't believe in an alien virus that can take over and run human bodies.

Whatever, I slogged through, but I did NOT like this.
