Well, I read about half of it.

So far as I can tell, it's not SF at all, it's more a multi-generational saga, with family traits. I don't like jumping around in time anyway, and keeping track of twice as many characters who don't appear for chapters at a time, and everybody involved is kinda stupid. So I stopped.
