Book Note: Jane Lindskold, Wolf's Head, Wolf's Heart

I read this book about 3-Dec-2002. This is the first time I've read this book. The book is copyright 2002. This note was last modified Saturday, 19-Aug-2006 10:44:56 PDT.

This note contains spoilers for the book.

This is the sequel to Through Wolf's Eyes.

It's good enough, but it seems like it's somehow missing something the previous book had. I think it's focus.

We find out a little more about the history of these lost colonies -- but nothing interesting. We find out a little about magic -- that it definitely exists, but that New Kelvin doesn't actually know how to do that much with it. Some magical artifacts, treasures of Bright Bay, are important in this book, and at least one of them is apparently demonstrated to really be a magical artifact. But nothing useful is done with it (they never learn enough about it to put it to useful work), and it and the others are destroyed by the end of the book.

We find out quite a lot more about New Kelvin, and that's pretty interesting.
